I like everything about this, from your color choices, to the composition. To me, it has the purity and simple elegance one would associate with Andrew Wyeth. Beautifully done (and amazingly small!!!)
Hi, Lilly. I am your mystery subject. Thank you for the beautiful rendition of my photo. Also, thank you for a fun reference photo to paint. DSFDF is such a great way to connect with other artists. I'm glad to make your acquaintance through this challenge.
She's really ethereal. You captured the look on her face. It's a great painting and the challenge itself was so much fun. Keep up the good work in 2010.
dominique: Canvas sketch paper is paper that is made for painting on with oils & acrylics. The texture of the paper is similar to a very fine grained canvas, but it doesn't feel chalky.
& Thanks Chelsie, it's nice to meet you! I really enjoyed painting your portrait.
Lilly, Where do you get this paper ? Do you have to stretch it or clamp it down ? are they loose sheets ? Thanks for the info. artbydominique at yahoo dot com
